In the land of the free, they are the brave. And, too often, they are the forgotten.
There are approximately 145,000 US. Military veterans in Clark County, many of whom have been wounded during active duty. Military personnel and veterans with special needs receive limited support from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Walker Furniture knows this and we are proud to spearhead a community effort to provide the specialized furniture to make our peacekeepers more comfortable. To express their gratitude to these outstanding men and women for their dedicated service, Walker Furniture created “Help for Heroes” in 2013 to provide military families and veterans with lift chairs, adjustable beds, new mattresses, dining sets, and other furniture to help make day-to-day living a littler easier. This year, the 7th year for the program, 12 Clark County active military personnel and/or veterans will be recognized and supported.
