Dancing With Parkinson’s US is a local organization teaching dance for patients with Parkinson’s Disease, to improve their motor functions and promote emotional wellness. Dance for PD licensed affiliates are the only organizations authorized to offer Dance for PD-branded classes based on the Mark Morris Dance Group’s research-backed program. Licensed affiliates maintain the highest standards of teaching, program delivery and administrative support to ensure that classes they offer are safe, beneficial and enjoyable.
Pamela Lappen is at the heart of Dancing With Parkinson’s US. Since 2010, Pamela has been teaching dance for the Parkinson’s community. Her work is recognized by the Parkinson’s Foundation, the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts and Dance for PD. Having taught dance at universities, colleges, high schools, professional dance schools, as well as dancing professionally, Pamela’s primary focus now is to enrich the quality of life for those with PD through the art of dance.

November 8th at Sahara West Library in the Multi-Purpose room. “PD and the Creative Arts Experience” will present “Sketches” with Shannon Yee and Cheyenne Deen. Doors open at 1:00pm and the one hour performance will start at 1:30pm. Seating is limited. Event is free.
