NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are solidly higher Wednesday after strong earnings from Google’s owner Alphabet, Boeing and Microsoft lifted investors’ mood. Wall Street is also waiting to hear from the Federal Reserve, which will likely raise interest rates at the end of its two-day meeting. The S&P 500 index is up 1.3% and the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite is up 2.5%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is also up. The Fed on Wednesday is expected to announce an increase of up to three-quarters of a percentage point in its benchmark interest rate, triple the usual size.
