Some legends should never leave us, and if you were a Raider fan – really, a football fan – in the late ’60’s and early ’70’s, there was no legend like The Mad Bomber. A three-time AFL champion and a Super Bowl quarterback. A two-time AFL MVP. Most importantly, the quarterback that feared no one and nothing and was one of the original Pride & Poise Boys who gave the early Raiders the personality that still powers the team.
Unfortunately, time waits for no legend, and Daryle Lamonica passed away at his home in Fresno earlier today.
This was the best highlight reel we could find, so enjoy a little trip back in the history of the Silver & Black. Rest easy, #3.
