The hotel towers for Mandalay Bay and The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip will be moving to partial midweek closures starting at the end of the month, according to MGM Resorts.
The company confirmed in a statement Friday that hotel operations will be closed Mondays through Thursdays, effective Monday, Nov. 30, as demand remains soft amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Both properties’ casinos, restaurants and other amenities will remain open every day throughout the week.
“While we do not currently expect the mid-week hotel closures to remain past December, we will continue evaluating business levels to determine how long they are in effect,” MGM said in its statement.
These aren’t the first partial hotel closures introduced by MGM. The hotel at Park MGM moved to a similar weekend-only schedule earlier this month.
Other gaming companies have instituted similar midweek closures as well.
Wynn’s Encore was the first to adopt the scheduling change back in October, while Caesars Entertainment said Rio’s hotel would be closed midweek starting in early January shortly after its reopening.
