On October 12, 2020 at approximately 3:08 a.m., LVMPD Dispatch received a call from a person reporting possible illegal shooting in the 3500 block of Villa Knolls North Drive. Responding officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate any victims or evidence of illegal shooting.
During their investigation, officers located a person with a Temporary Protection Order (TPO) against them which had not been served. Officers were in the process of serving the TPO when an unidentified white male adult approached and fired several rounds at them. One of the officers returned fire and the suspect fled on foot. Officers initiated a foot pursuit, during which the suspect turned and fired several more rounds at the officers. The same officer returned fire and took cover, losing sight of the suspect. The suspect fled and remains outstanding. There were no reported injuries during this event. This is the 16th officer involved shooting of 2020.
