Nevada saw it’s deadliest COVID-19 week, this past week. The silver state recorded 76 deaths for the week that ended Friday, surpassing the previous high of 68 back in early April. Along with an increase in deaths, Nevada saw record numbers of testing, positive cases and hospitalizations. The increase in numbers follows the phased reopening of non-essential businesses in the state. Following the surge in cases, Governor Steve Sisolak mandated the wearing of face coverings on June 25 and ordered bars closed again on July 10.
Forecasts by universities and U.S. government researchers predict that things will get worse before they get better.
