The National Hockey League is suspending the rest of its season indefinitely because of Coronavirus. The NHL announced it’s decision Thursday, one day after the NBA made the same move. The Golden Knights were scheduled to play in Minnesota on Thursday. The Knights did not hold their scheduled 11:30 a.m. morning skate, per NHL recommendations, while the league prepared its response.
The Knights are 39-24-8 and are in first place in the Pacific Division.
However, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman did bring positive light to the season suspension.
“Our goal is to resume play as soon as it is appropriate and prudent, so that we will be able to complete the season and award the Stanley Cup. Until then, we thank NHL fans for your patience and hope you stay healthy,” said Bettman.
