Las Vegas Taxi Company To Shut It's Doors

Frias Transportation Management, which has been in business for more than 50 years in the Las Vegas Valley, announced it is going to sell it's taxi perations or shut it's doors by March. The Board of Trustees of the Charles and Phyllis M. Frias Charitable Trust voted to dispose of the transportation business, which employs more than 1100 people. Frias operates five taxi names: Ace Cab, Union Cab, Vegas Western Cab, ANLV Cab and Virgin Valley Cab.

About 160 drivers were laid off last November when the company stopped it's airport shuttles, citing an increase in ride-sharing. Taxi companies saw a 14% decline in rides from November 2017 through November 2018 according to the Nevada Taxicab Authority.
