Disgraced Nevada Congressman Ruben Kihuen Considering Run for a Las Vegas City Office

Nevada Democratic congressman Ruben Kihuen appears to be considering a run for a Las Vegas city office next year despite the release of a U.S. House Ethics Committee report last month that found sexual harassment allegations made against him by three women were credible.

Kihuen filed paperwork Tuesday with the IRS to form a new political organization called Ruben Kihuen for Las Vegas.

Kihuen's office did not respond to messages Wednesday seeking details.

He has denied the harassment allegations and said in response to the Ethics Committee report that he didn't violate House rules but regretted his conduct toward the women and apologized.

Kihuen declined to run for re-election to his Las Vegas-area House seat after the allegations became public in 2017.

Three Las Vegas city council seats and the mayor's office are up for election in 2019.
