We know the Raiders are coming and are going to play in a new stadium to be built just west of the strip, south of Mandalay Bay. But what about UNLV? They want to leave Sam Boyd Stadium and also play in the new facility beginning in 2020. The Las Vegas Stadium Authority will discuss how the Raiders and UNLV can share the facility, at their meeting today. Discussions between the two parties have been described as “preliminary”. UNLV’s priority in negotiations will be ensuring a home-field advantage in a facility where the Raiders will enjoy primary tenancy. That includes field markings in UNLV colors, game-day control of video boards for sponsors and marketing, and use of luxury suites and club seating to accommodate the university’s athletics donor base.
