The busiest portion of the busiest freeway in Nevada is about to get worse, all in the name of getting better
Beginning tonight at 10pm, both sides of I-15 between Spring Mountain and Sahara will have their right lane and shoulder blocked off. The northbound restrictions will last though February, while the southbound restrictions will last through April. It's the latest restriction involving Project Neon, which is the eventual widening of I-15 between the Spaghetti Bowl interchange and Sahara Avenue
Since the beginning of the project's construction, there have been more inconveniences for drivers on U.S. 95, as restrictions and the occasional full freeway closure were needed for sign installation work.
One more upcoming closure sure to cause more headaches will be the Charleston exit from 15S, which will close for six weeks beginning on January 15th. If all goes according to plan, Project Neon will be finished in late 2019
