Safety Bollards Going Up On Strip

The first safety bollards going up on the Las Vegas strip, began going in just after midnight, in a project expected to take months to complete. This first phase will see the installation of 800 of the steel bollards between Tropicana and Spring Mountain. This phase will be completed by New Years Eve. Then another 7500 of the bollards will go in from Sahara to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, next year. Bollards are short, thick posts designed to block a vehicle from driving into an area where pedestrians are present.
