BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil (AP) — Diego Maradona has described Argentina’s Football Association president as “perverted,” stepping up his feud with Julio Grondona.

The pair has had a testy relationship since Maradona’s contract as Argentina coach wasn’t renewed after the 2010 World Cup.

When Grondona reportedly called the Argentine great a “bad luck charm” after the national team’s 1-0 victory over Iran on Saturday, Maradona responded by making a crude gesture on live TV.

Maradona later returned to the issue on Venezuelan television network Telesur, saying: “For my country, for my family, for my friends, I give my life and I would never wish disgrace upon them. Only someone very perverted would say that.”

According to Argentine media, Grondona said “the bad luck charm left and we won” after Maradona left his seat shortly before Lionel Messi’s winner.
